Steve Jobs Biography Gets a Name Change, Drops Iconic ‘i’

iSteve – The Book of Jobs is due to be the first official, authorised account of the life thus far of Apple CEO and co-founder, Steve Jobs. And despite the book not being available on shelves until early next year, it’s already seen its first revision.

The book, penned by the man behind biographies of Einstein and Kissinger, was originally going to be called iSteve – a tribute to the way Apple took the humble letter and made it iconic though the iPod, iPad and iPhone. However, according to the author’s family, iSteve is just too…..cute

Never accused of being too cutesy, Jobs probably wasn’t a fan of the title, either.

This has led to author Walter Isaacson to get his publisher – Simon & Schuster, to change the title to something more fitting, writes Fortune.

The book’s new title is simply ‘Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson‘, and with the it already a best seller, we’re sure copies will fly off the shelves regardless of the wording up top.

While there are already numerous books that claim to tell the story of Steve Jobs, this is set to be the first that offers a unique insight into the man that built Apple, with co-workers and family involved in its writing.

“From bestselling author Walter Isaacson comes the landmark biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. In iSteve: The Book of Jobs, Isaacson provides an extraordinary account of Jobs’ professional and personal life. Drawn from three years of exclusive and unprecedented interviews Isaacson has conducted with Jobs as well as extensive interviews with Jobs’ family members, key colleagues from Apple and its competitors, iSteve is the definitive portrait of the greatest innovator of his generation.”

Scheduled for publication on March 6th, 2012, the book is available to pre-order now from Amazon for $16.50.
