Couple of suggestions. Note: I have not actually done the jailbreak process as yet because I ALSO could not find the ipsw. I have been digging the blogs most of the night. I tried this and when I chose to SAVE rather than open the file, Mozilla saved it as a .ipsw not as a .zip. Most posts indicate the .ipsw must be in the same folder as the software you are running. Most posts indicate the 3gs with 3.0.1 must use redsn0w 8. Can't verify this as I am still trying to get everything in place to try the process. With all the 'disastrous' posts it seems prudent to gather as much information as possible before starting the process. Some "firmware" upgrades can not be interrupted once begun.
