miPatch automatically patches your MobileInstallation file
The clever guys over at Hackulo.us have released yet another time saving app through Cydia! One of the most popular posts on this site has to be Sebastien’s guide to adding .ipa’s to your iPhone.
Many of us remember the long, dreary process of creating extra folders and changing the MobileInstallation file… well not anymore! The new app from Hackulo.us, labeled miPatch, will create all the directories for you, and patch the MobileInstallation file… Just like that!
And what makes it even better is how simple the process is. I would post a screenshot, and maybe give a guide, but the thing is… There’s no reason to! All you have to do is simply install the app, and it’s done. Nothing will show up on your springboard, you should just see the app under Manage > Packages within Cydia.
All this has been tested on my iPhone (1st gen), and everything seems to be working fine. Once done, simply add the cracked .ipa’s to your iTunes and sync.

Ok, so i’m confused again, so what does the MobileInstallation Patch on Cydia from iphone.org.hk do? Thats what i’ve been using for months, and it does the same thing…right?

i just installed firmware 2.1 on my 2G iPhone, and installed the mobile installation patch in Cydia from iphone.org.hk. so, I re-booted my iphone (press Home and Power button till any logo comes out.).. then i tried to install IPA file, sync from iTune.. the Application does not work.
* on my last firmware 2.0 i did install miPatch from hackulo.us.. it blank my screen and no icons at all even still can accept call and SMS. so i have to “reset” ( someshort like that) again my phone and just upgrade to 2.1.. i am a little afraid to install miPatch again..
anyone can help..?
Just a heads up as I’ve had a bit of trouble with this. I’m using version 2.02 firmware and after installing, all my icons disappear. I’ve tried 3 times with the same result. A reset of the phone brings everything back without too much trouble though.
Worked like a charm guys. Installed, downloaded a free app from the store, synced, and then added some cracked IPA’s do my desktop. Added the files to the ITunes library, synced again, and there they were.

Is this that simple? I tried doing it manually but it doesn’t work. I got a error saying “The game cannot be installed because it cannot be verified. I downloaded the correct patch with the documents folder set correctly. But then it doesn’t work!!!
It sure is. 16 gb iPhone 3g here. Syncing was the longest part of the process. No need for winscp etc.
Yep. No need to manually change a thing. As easy as it comes.

i just tried this and loaded a few ipa files … the upload went successfully i can see the icons in my iphone but when i click them to launch the app it says the application cannot be opened

to all those people whose icons dissappeared SSH to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation/and Delete the MobileInstallation file then rename MobileInstallation.bk to MobileInstallation…reboot iPhone…should be good!!!

I have same problems as ˝Elite˝. I can upload ipa files and icons appear, but when I try to open the application it says: The application ˝xyz˝ cannot be opened.

I have an odd issue with the mipatch. I can’t update my legit apps. I have to uninstall mipatch, update, and then I can reinstall mipatch. Any way around this or is this something that I should expect to be occuring?
That has not happened to me before. When you try to update the apps what is the error you get?
I am facing the same problem of the “the application cannot be opened” i am having 2 G and 2.2 ,,,, but i heared that i can install from the Appstore free program then they will all open …. is there is any way else?
2G Iphone… correct? 2G Itouch is un-jailbreakable i thought. Well anyway. I’ve had no issues with some, and some issues with others. I think I’ve attributed to the 2.2 fw. I know it sucks, but try deleting it off iphone/itouch, then re-downloading it with the miPatch installed. If it still won’t work, then delete and try sync’ing it through itunes.

I got it working woooo ok here is how its done
step 1 jail break i phone using 2.1 or 2.2 firmware mipatch works on both
step 2 after jail break add http://cydia.hackulo.us to cydia sources
step 3 search for “patch” and mipatch will show up and install it on the jail broken iphone
next step is very important if you dont do it this will happen ” you can still install hacked apps but when they you try to launch the app it says the application cannot be opened”
step 4 make sure u have a free account at app store this step is very important you have to download a paid app or FREE i did FREE and all works fine
step 5 after you get your app intalled load all the ipas from either cydia installous or ipa from itunes works like a champ
There was one for 2.1 earlier, a search will most likely dig it up for you.
whats the fix on re-arranging icons? after installing MiPatch icons re-arrange after every respring? Is that a bug or sumthing? please fix it soon.

im running 3g on 2.2 firmware. I jailbreak the phone, did my sync to restore my data (already had a free app from App store on the backup).. I uploaded and installed cracked apps and also apps from cydia without any issues, they all work just fine! my issue is that my friend and I would like to share a few of our purchased apps. Itunes will not let me transfer the file to my phone saying my computer is not authorized for the file. I have the mipatch installed on my iphone as well… i tried re-changing permissions on the folders and all that… any ideas?

hi everybody…i’m new with this iphone and i completely dunno any step that u guy said…can anyone explain to me the step to install free app using hackulo..step by step please…i tried to download the ipa using comp and running it directly with my itunes but failed…should i download the ipa on other folder 1st or something…please help me guys…
and one other things is i’m using 2.1 firmware and i’ve installed mipactch firmware 2.2 since my cydia only can bring that up…what firmware of ipa that i can download/use…should it be 2.2 or 2.1
thanks – finally happy to crk the ipod touch gen1 2.2 after Apple gave me a scare by hiding all my apps/games/music after a few hours (they did appear with USBed to itunes)

Tried it on my iPod Touch 2G Jailbroken on 2.2.1 and it worked on Anatomy.

it is possible to jailbreak a 2G ipod touch with 2.2.1 using redsn0w by Dev Team.
however its tethered so it has to re-injected to reboot your ipod or it goes into DFU or recovery mode.
can’t find source hackulo.us in cydia. has it been removed?

You must type in (cydia.hackulo.us) <– without parenthesis of course.
The cydia part at the begining has to be included.
Just loaded the source 5 seconds ago so it is still there.
Actually, you can just go into Cydia, view my Category, go into Repositories, and Hackulo.us is right there/

I have had a problem with the Jailbreak. Everything was fine when I was running it on my laptop that isn’t registered to an account. Then since it was my buddy iPod 2g I gave it back to him and then when he synced his music Cydia, Installous, and Installer all disappeared but his cracked apps that he downloaded from Installous stayed. I would really like to know what happened. I have had to restore it almost three times so far and I wouldn’t like to have to do it again.

miPatch WILL NOT WORK on OS 3.0! Do NOT install it!
Instead, install AppSync for OS 3.0. It has the same effect as miPatch: you’ll be able to sync your apps to and from iTunes. But it’s made specifically for OS 3.0. You can find this in our regular Cydia repo.

What do you do after you download MiPatch?
ALL of my cracked apps were deleted when my 2nd Gen. iPod Touch (Firmware 2.2.1) synced to iTunes (8.2.1).
I accidentally installed this. PLz help how do I remove this?

Thank you so much cebutler94. All my icons disappeared and a reset wasn’t helping, but after i took your advice and ssh’d into the phone it works again! phew! i’m too scared to download mipatch again.
Hello! I installed miPatch on my iPhone 3G s 3.0 :/ I rebooted it and no it has been stuck on a plain black screen for the last 2 days! How do I get rid of it? I know it’s my fault for not reading that it’s ony for 2.x… Is there any way to fix this? When I connect it to my PC it just keeps on resseting but I can still use iTunes to sync stuff onto it and browse the files on it with iFunbox. What should I do? If I restore it it will update to 3.1 and I’ll never be able to jailbreak or unlock it again! Or is there some way to restore WITHOUT updating nor the band nor the firmware?
