What are .ipa files?

You’ve heard about those .ipa files and if you’re into jailbreaking your iPhone or iPod Touch, you’ve probably also been looking for these illegal ipa files. But do you know what they stand for?

.ipa stands for iPhone/iPod Touch Application. This extension developped by Apple is used for applications on iPhone and iPod Touch devices, downloaded from the iTunes App Store.
